The new X.WED3 provides a seamless transition between an off-road/adventure helmet and street riding as a full-face helmet, without requiring any tools. Additionally, it offers the flexibility to use goggles in dusty environments, enhancing its versatility.

THE PERFECT VENTILATION, IN ALL CONDITIONS
Featuring seven (7) closable air intakes and four (4) exhaust outlets the complex X.WED3’s ventilation system is ready to adapt to all preferences and weather conditions.
Innovation has been the prime focus of the X.WED3 with the new Mid Airflow Chamber. This new patent pending system is created to keep a gap storage all around between the inner EPS and the outer EPS, providing immediate circulation of fresh air around the head while exiting the hot air from the shell through the rear outlets.
VISOR RECOIL SYSTEM
The new visor design includes NEXX’s proven Recoil Visor System with its spring-loaded base side plates that auto-adjust and pull the visor back against the dual-lip window beading for a perfect airtight seal – working independently from the peak fitting system.
Pinlock 120 XLT Max Vision (in X-PRO Carbon fiber models) and Pinlock 70 (in X-Matrix 2 fiber models) are included in the box.
X.WED3 inner sun visor is 18% bigger, with enough height to cover until just above the nose bridge.
Combining sleek and stable aerodynamics, the strategic peak design ensures both airstreams to pass through and improved performance at higher speeds. The peak’s 3-level adjustment and removal are easy-to-operate through the new anti-rotation mounting screws, made in a fusion of metal and plastic by injection molding. A screwless peak extensor is still included, perfect for riding in low sun.
ANTI-VIBRATION EPS SYSTEM
The new anti-vibration EPS system includes a special rubber trim settled between inner EPS and Outer EPS, allowing micromovements from the inner EPS that is in contact with the user’s head. This helps to reduce the vibrations in the helmet caused by air turbulence at higher speeds. The result is a safer helmet, with extra stability in the head and a smoother and more comfortable sensation while riding.

JOIN THE SAFE, FAST EMERGENCY AND CLEANING REVOLUTION
The new lining F.R.S (Fast Release System) is distinguished by the simplicity with which it allows to remove simultaneously both cheek pads in just a few simple steps and without any tools.
Easy to reach and even easier to operate – Patent pending F.R.S® is the perfect solution for interior cleaning but most importantly allowing rescue personnel to easily remove the helmet with minimum friction in an injured rider’s head, in case of an emergency.
EASY AND FAST
Simply lift the rubber trim arms that lock the buttons in both sides of the helmet, slide back the red buttons and both cheek pads are free to be fully removed.

Designed to keep your action-camera securely and firmly in place during adventure riding, the new POV Kit includes a top camera mount, that can be used with and without the peak; a removable side mount and a 4-reversible position chin mount, to capture all the action up close!
INTEGRATED GOGGLE STRAP HOLDER
One of the unique features of the X.WED3 is the Goggle Strap holder integrated in the back of the helmet, allowing a better placement of off-road goggles which remain attached to the helmet when not in use.

The circumference of the head should be measured with a cloth measuring tape at a point just above the eyebrows, around the ears, and at a point in the back of the head that results in the largest possible measurement. Take several measurements to make sure you have the largest one. Compare to the size chart below. If you are in between sizes, better to choose the larger size.
The cheek pads should be in contact with the cheeks with a snug fit but without excessive pressure. Look for gaps between the temples and the brow pad. After this, check movement of the helmet up and down and side to side. As you test the movement, the helmet padding should not slide easily over the skin, but rather, should pull the skin in the direction of rotation. A proper-fitting helmet will feel snug with fairly even pressure around the sides and top of your head.

The XD-5 is a completely redesigned helmet, packed with many new features. As with everything from Arai, every improvement is made with a priority for protection. And this new model brings us ever closer to the ideal Arai shape for protection.
One of the biggest changes is the visor system and its visor. The new VAS-A visor system, derived from the VAS-V system originally developed for the Corsair-X, has been designed to maximize Glancing-Off performance, meaning more surface area to glance off impact energy whilst offering easy installation and removal of the visor and peak. The visor itself has been redesigned for increased visibility and Glancing-Off performance, and is now a Max Vision visor, so a Pinlock insert can easily be installed. The new VAS-A visor system also makes it easier to switch, without tools, to one of the other styles. You can choose between Adventure, Off-road and On-road.

So for more than three decades, Arai has pioneered different shapes – and even different proportions within those shapes – in our various helmet models, working to offer a better fit for more people.
The XD-5 has Arai's INTERMEDIATE OVAL (IO) interior fit shape.
The all-new peak is designed for more effective ventilation, increased high speed flow-through performance, greater range of adjustability for blocking the sun, and is more resistant to buffeting, all of which leads to an overall more comfortable riding experience.
The XD-5 offers three distinct configurations depending on rider preference or riding conditions. Change the look every time you ride, or even during the same ride.
The XD-5 has the option to use just the shield for street use, just the peak (with a set of your favorite goggles) for off-road use, and the shield and peak combined to create a truly multi-functional ADV helmet.
The new VAS-A Max Vision system allows for easier and faster shield swaps. The shield can be attached or removed without the need for any tools. The peak utilizes only one screw on each side for removal/installation.
The amount of energy that any helmet can absorb is limited and we believe in a crash the only option is to have the helmet glance in a way that directs the impact energy away from the inside of the helmet. The shell of the XD-5 is designed to be round, smooth, and strong so that it can more easily ‘glance off’ impact energy in an actual crash.
The opening area for the XD-5 mouth-shutter is double the size compared to the XD-4. Thanks to the evolution in shell strength from the previous generation, the aperture could be made larger, and the mouth shutter could be made to flow more fresh air without the need for the mesh vents as seen on its predecessors.
Working in conjunction with the mouth shutter, the inner shutter allows you to adjust the amount of airflow entering the helmet. If the inner and outer shutters are both open, the air will be directed towards your mouth. If the outer shutter is open and the inner closed, the air will be directed towards the shield and help to reduce fogging.
The effectiveness of conventional forehead vents could be limited by the rider's position, but with the front logo duct, airflow is unaffected by changes in riding position. Thanks to advances in shell technology, we can add holes in the forehead area for this vent without compromising the helmet's ability to protect.
Set in a position that makes it ideal for adventure riding, the AR spoiler contributes to reducing fatigue from turbulent air throughout long rides and works to draw out hot air from the crown area.
The new max-vision shield preserves the wide field-of-view and high level of visibility expected of an XD model. The Pinlock insert for this model has advanced to be effective at resisting fogging, even in extreme conditions, across the entire field of view.
*The Pinlock insert is an optional accessory, with one included in the box upon helmet purchase.
The XD-5 utilizes an interior liner that has the same level of acidity as bare skin and has odor-resistant and stain-resistant properties. The headliner is equipped with a removable foam layer on both the left and right sides for temples and a removable foam layer in the rear of the head-liner, allowing you to remove 5mm of foam if desired for exceptional micro-fitting adjustability.
*Once micro-fit pads are removed they cannot be replaced.
The retractable pull-down spoiler reduces wind intrusion into the bottom of the helmet and helps to pull out hot and humid exhaled air around the sculpted leading edges of the cheek pads. This coordinated ventilation, combined with fresh intake from the chin vent, also helps to reduce shield fogging.
*Optional ES Chin Cover can be used, but not included.
The Hyper-Ridge® has been re-sculpted to provide a flat surface on the sides to allow for the easy installation of a wide range of communication devices. This increases the bonding surface between the device and the helmet and helps to reduce buffeting or possible slip-offs.
Speakers can be installed directly to the provided hook & loop panel without the need to remove the cheek pad covers. Both ear pockets are deep and wide, designed to accommodate thicker speakers with plenty of room to position them to increase comfort.
A pocket to tuck away excess wiring and connectors as well as holes to easily run wires from side to side, have been incorporated into the neck roll to prevent wires coming loose while putting on or taking off the helmet. These features provide a smart way to tackle cable management inside your helmet.

The Variable Axis System shield mechanism was developed to enhance the shape of the shell, but the easy to learn changing mechanism is what most people are raving about. Quick, easy and intuitive.
The VAS latch captures and securely holds the shield closed to help prevent unexpected opening. In addition to the de-mist function, the larger latch allows for intuitive and seamless shield operation.
The VAS pivot cover is now smaller and lower than the previous design, yielding an average of 24mm more area above the cover. The shell is now smoother along the Snell test line in the temple area, thus increasing the helmet’s ability to glance off objects during an impact.
Compared with the shell of the Corsair-V, the smooth area around the temple is increased by an average of 24mm on the new VAS model. Having a rounder, smoother, stronger shell to improve glance off ability.
Born from Arai’s exclusive Formula One helmet technology, the Peripherally Belted Complex Laminate Construction shell is developed to be both light and strong. The upper edge of the eye port is reinforced with Arai’s Peripheral Belt, custom woven in-house with proprietary super fibers to increase shell strength without adding thickness or weight.
A one-piece multi-density liner, tuned with varying densities according to the position and volume of each given area within each shell size, provides protection where it’s needed most, and allows Arai to make a compact helmet that puts protection first, and is as aerodynamic and light as possible.
The top padding stays in place but the liner is fixed with Velcro and easily removed for cleaning.
Depending on the model, cheek pads, ear cups or the complete interior may be easily removed. All parts (replaceable or not) can be cleaned with lukewarm water and mild soap. Rinse well after cleaning and never dry in direct sunlight or near a heat source. Interior parts in different size thickness are available for a custom fit for every rider.
The exclusive shell flares 5mm around the base, making it easier to get the helmet on and off (for newcomers to Arai the initial ‘snugness’ when putting the helmet on or taking it off can be challenging).
Extracts more hot air from the helmets interior and improves aerodynamics.
Produce low pressure behind the rear vent for better hot air extraction. Integrated in the shell for better aerodynamics, reduce wind noise and prevent buffeting at speed. Inside, a small foam dam helps to absorb and diminish excessive noise, without reducing ventilation performance.

Attached to the bottom of the helmet, the new chin curtain helps to further accentuate the Egg-shape form. The improved airflow reduces noise even further.
To offer an even better snug fit and enhancing the comfort to the lower jaw, the Facial Contour System (FCS) works with a foam spring support in the cheek pad that compresses and rebounds, providing the necessary support without excessive pressure.
